I could say that I like journalism, but I would be remiss, because the matter goes much further: much more than just liking it, the truth is that I believe deeply in it. I am convinced that, without journalism, without journalists, our societies would be much worse, less just and livable.
I have been in the profession since 1992, half a life spent in Argentina and half in Spain. I also have strong links to Germany. I speak Spanish, German, English and some Portuguese. I saw the Pentagon explode and I covered the attacks of September 11th, 2001 in Washington and New York.
Writter, editor, editor-in-chief, member of the Editorial Board, correspondent, interviewer and columnist. Print media, digital media, radio, TV… Journalism allowed me to travel and test myself in multiple positions and situations.
I have extensive experience in international news agencies, especially the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), where I worked for over 20 years. In 2015 I returned to Argentina to assume the leadership of the Sports Section as part of the Editorial Board in the newspaper La Nación, where I stayed for almost four years and redesigned and relaunched the Sports Section in its print and digital edition. I worked daily with journalists from all over the world, I also traveled the world thanks to the profession, I was present at all the World Cups and Olympic Games since 1996 and in hundreds of sporting events. Tennis and the ever-complex politics of sport with FIFA and the IOC as axes, are my great specialties, as well as three key names of the sport: Lionel Messi, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
Today I am a correspondent for the Spanish newspaper El Mundo for Argentina and Chile, columnist for Infobae and La Gaceta, as well as contributor for several other media worldwide.
I write and talk about sports, politics, society and everything that modern life offers. Airplanes far from frightening me, excite me. In addition to the media mentioned, I have written for publications such as Rolling Stone, Newsweek, El País, La Vanguardia, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Weltwoche and many others.
I’ve authored three books, one on Lionel Messi, another on Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, translated into English, Italian, French, Hungarian, Czech and other languages. I am also passionate about university teaching and media consulting. I’m still, it is clear, happily trapped by journalism.
